Southwestern Ontario farmers say they plan to create a traffic jam Friday at Canada's second busiest border crossing.

Plans for a two-hour traffic slowdown on Highway 402, leading to the Canadian side of the Blue Water Bridge, were announced Wednesday by Dover farmer Tim Chinnick….

Chinnick said dozens of farmers on tractors and in pickup trucks will travel west on Highway 402 through Sarnia and then back east.

The route selected for the demonstration is approximately six kilometres in each direction.

Chinnick said provincial police will provide escort for the demonstrating farmers….

"The protest is aimed at both the provincial and federal governments," said Chinnick. "We are demanding financial support for cash-strapped grain and oilseed farmers."…
