The FAST division of Canada Customs reports 75% of all applications are being rejected due to administrative errors.

The rejected applications are being returned to drivers for a variety of reasons, including missing or incorrect information on five year address history, five year work history, identification, security questions.

In recent meetings with OTA, Canada Customs, Citizenship and Immigration Canada as well as both Customs and Immigration branches of U.S. Customs and Border Protection have stated that drivers must complete their own FAST application forms.

However, if carriers are going to fill out the applications on behalf of their drivers to save them the administrative burden, they are strongly advised to ensure their drivers review them prior to submitting to ensure all information provided is true, up to date and complete.
